FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — The Christmas season officially kicked off in Fairmont Saturday evening with with the launch of Main Street Fairmont's inaugural Christmas Village and Light Show.

The Christmas Village and Light Show is the result of a collaborative effort between several organizations, including the City of Fairmont and Main Street Fairmont, but it was masterminded by resident Chuck Lenhart, who previously ran the Lenhart Light Show at his family's house on east side for six years.

Because of the collaboration, the downtown Fairmont greenspace will be turned into a colorful winter wonderland each night throughout the holiday season, with the lights synchronized to music that visitors can hear live over speakers or through their car radios.
