GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Greene County Sheriff’s Department said a man was taken into custody after an hours-long standoff on Friday.
According to Sheriff Wesley Holt, deputies went to a home on Warrensburg Road at around 7 a.m. for what was described as a domestic in progress after a caller said 47-year-old Todd McCamey threatened family members and barricaded himself in the basement with guns and knifes.
When officers arrived on the scene, Holt said McCamey began firing at officers, prompting the department’s SWAT members to respond.
A negotiator was brought in, Holt said, and over the next five hours, McCamey fired several shots inside the home and toward officers outside.
At around 12:30 p.m., McCamey told officers he wanted to resolve the situation peacefully, and Holt said
