LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas State Auditor’s Office recently hit a big milestone with what is its most well-known part of the job. As of this week, that money now totals $100 million returned to Arkansans since Milligan took office in 2023.

“The claim to fame is the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt, which technically is unclaimed property,” said Arkansas State Auditor Dennis Milligan.

Unclaimed property, according to Milligan, can be something like a last paycheck, an inheritance, a deposit that a person needs back, etc.

“That's probably the most fun part of the office,” Milligan said. “Getting Arkansans back their money.”

Austin Bunting of Pine Bluff is one Arkansan who has some money on the way.

“I went to their website, put in my information, and it was a really easy process,” Bunt
