VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Beach firefighters extinguished a brush fire in a wooded area near Holland Road Saturday evening.

The fire was reported in the 3100 block of Aloma Court, which is off Holland Road in the Landstown Meadows area. Crews arrived at 5:16 p.m. and saw heavy smoke coming from the wooded area between that neighborhood and a neighboring one that includes Bluegrass Lane and Bentgrass Court.

Crews used a brush truck and utility task vehicle to access the area. About 10,000 square feet burned.

There were no injuries to people or pets. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation.
