BROOKINGS, S.D. – Sophomore running back Denzell Gibson rushed for 101 yards but the University of New Hampshire football team lost to South Dakota State, 41-3, in a FCS first-round playoff game on Saturday, Nov. 29 at snowy Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium.

Sophomore quarterback Matt Vezza completed 10 of 22 passes for 48 yards and had nine carries for 34 yards. Junior tight end Peyton Strickland was the top target with three catches for 15 yards.

Sophomore kicker Nick Reed scored UNH’s only points on a 30-yard field goal in the second quarter.

Senior defensive tackle Tim Bonagura led the Wildcats with a career-high eight tackles. Grad student Justice Akinmoladun, another defensive tackle, also recorded a career high of seven tackles.
