Lem Barney is not dead following a inaccurate report saying otherwise.

The 80-year-old retired NFL player’s son confirmed he is still alive after the Pro Football Hall of Fame shared an email reporting he had died.

Lem ‘s son Lem Jr told Detroit Free Press writer Dave Birkett that his father is definitely alive, and said he just saw him on Thanksgiving.

“OK. Talked to Lem Barney ‘s son. He said Lem is alive. He said he Lem saw on Thanksgiving, started getting messages asking about his dad last night. He said he talked to Lem ‘s nurse today, had her send a selfie, heard his voice in the background. ‘He’s good … He is alive,’” Dave shared on Twitter/X .
