LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WSMV) - La Vergne Fire Rescue Department officials said a home is a “total loss” and a cat is believed to be dead after a fire Saturday night.
The La Vergne Police Department said officers and fire personnel responded to reports of a house fire on Morningside Drive at about 4:25 p.m. Saturday.
When firefighters arrived, they found the home fully engulfed in flames.
LVFRD said the homeowner was trying to repair a copper pipe using a handheld torch. He believed he put the fire out, but noticed flames in his work space a short time later and realized he did not put it out.
No injuries were reported in the fire, but the homeowner’s cat is believed to be dead.
Officials also said the homeowner has been displaced as the home is believed to be a total loss. The American Red
