INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that damaged two homes Saturday afternoon on Indy's far east side.
According to a Facebook post from IFD , around 1:59 p.m. on Nov. 29, firefighters were called to two homes in the 10900 block of Penwell Way , which is in a neighborhood near East 38th Street and North German Church Road.
When firefighters arrived, they discovered a heavy fire had broken out in the garage of one of the homes. Firefighters began an aggressive attack as they tried to keep the fire from spreading into the rest of the house and the one next door.
IFD says firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in 30 minutes and no people were injured. However, a dog was found by firefighters in "serious" condition. The dog w
