The drive home Fred McNair made each day from Southern University’s practice facility wasn’t always easy since he took over as the Jaguars’ interim head coach.

There was a lot for McNair to ponder as he tried to rally a team that fell way below expectations this season.

So low, in fact, that head coach Terrence Graves got fired after seven games.

So low that the program was on the verge of having its worst season in 90 years.

The noise around the program’s dismal season was blaring as loud as the Human Jukebox’s trumpet section.
