Man fatally shot in North Lawndale

A man died after being shot in North Lawndale earlier this month, according to Chicago police.

D’Angelo Williams, 33, was driving in a vehicle with a 23-year-old man in the 1200 block of South Independence Boulevard around 9 p.m. Nov. 23 when a man on the street fired shots, police said. Williams was shot multiple times and taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he later died.

The younger man was also shot and taken to the same hospital in fair condition, police said. No arrests have been made; an investigation is ongoing.
