MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A woman is dead after a crash near a busy Mesa intersection Saturday night.

Police say the crash happened around 8 p.m. near Guadalupe and Ellsworth roads .
Preliminary information suggests that the driver of a Toyota 4Runner was going eastbound on Guadalupe Road and tried to turn onto Ellsworth Road. That’s when police say the back end of her car was clipped by the driver of a Honda Civic, causing minor damage.
The driver of the 4Runner, a 68-year-old woman, got out of her car and said her heart was beating fast before she collapsed. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Police say the driver of the Honda Civic stayed on scene and was arrested for DUI.
