John Swinney has met concerned members of one of Scotland’s oldest Highland clans over the planned £10million sale of its historic estate on Skye. The First Minister was “genuinely worried” about the fate of Armadale Castle and the South Sleat countryside , according to campaigners. ‌

Clan Donald members and local residents say they weren’t consulted on the sell-off, announced earlier this year by heritage charity the Clan Donald Lands Trust (CLDT).
