With the regular season now over following Auburn’s 27-20 loss in the Iron Bowl , much of the focus has shifted toward the coaching search.
Auburn athletic director John Cohen told AL.com last week that he wants to name a head coach within 24 hours of the Iron Bowl, meaning a hire could be made on Sunday.
Interim head coach DJ Durkin is one of the top names to watch in the search. Cohen has said publicly that Durkin would be considered for the job, and the candidate pool has started to shrink over the past week.
Multiple Auburn players had good things to say about him after the Iron Bowl. Defensive end and captain Keldric Faulk gave Durkin the ultimate compliment when asked what the four weeks playing for him have been like.
