As deal-hunting shoppers eagerly planned to enter the doors of malls and major retailers early Friday morning, a smaller but equally passionate crowd started to form before dawn in front of Triple Play Records, the long-running music shop at 530 Main St. in downtown Grand Junction.

The eager shoppers weren’t especially interested in massive discounts Black Friday is widely known for, however. Instead, they sought something far more valuable: some of the hardest-to-find records ever put on a shelf.
