A mum said there was 'no magic wand' to erase the 'abhorrent' actions of a 'manipulative' predator who sexually assaulted her young daughter.

Police arrested Charles Benson-Clark in September 2022 after inappropriate messages were discovered on the girl's phone.

The 30-year-old was quizzed about his relationship with the victim, and allegations made, but refused to answer any questions.

Benson-Clark, formerly of Clavering, Saffron Walden, was eventually charged following a long and detailed investigation by Essex Police.
