Police have urged people who have purchased codeine products to carry out an important check as following an 'unusual incident'.
Anyone who has bought Nurofen Plus or similar from pharmacies in Northampton over the last few months has been asked to see if the blister packets were still intact.
Northamptonshire Police has made the plea after a shopper recently discovered a pack of tablets in a newly-purchased box had been deliberately opened.

The tablets that were meant to be inside had been removed and replaced with different ones.
When the box was returned to the store, staff were suspicious as to how it had happened and called police.
