When our elected officials are faced with the reality themselves, things get done. None of them wanted to be affected by the federal government shutdown during the holidays.

Senators and congressmembers must change the Constitution, specifically Article 1, Section 6, which guarantees payment of their compensation. If this clause is amended, a government shutdown might never be considered again. I ask Hawaii’s congressional delegation to begin the process of amending.
