Two areas of the Midlands region have been put on alert following weather warnings issued by the Met Office.

Two yellow warnings and one amber warning for rain has been issued for the United Kingdom starting at midnight (December 1).

The alerts do not cover the West Midlands region but it could have knock-on effects.

One alert area covers much of Wales and the South West of England.

However two areas of Shropshire bordering Wales have been issued flood alerts by the Environment Agency (EA).

In each area, communities have been advised that 'flooding is possible' and to 'be prepared'.
