Looking back at 1987’s “ The Running Man ,” starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, it’s impressive how that film, which predated the rise of “reality” shows such as “American Gladiators” and “Fear Factor” by years, managed to seemingly satirize the future, by way of a multitude of one-liners, awe-inspiringly cheesy production design, and a timely take on Stephen King’s somber dystopian novella.
