Tulane defeated Charlotte 27-0 on Saturday night before a Senior Night crowd of 22,245 at Yulman Stadium.

The win improved the No. 24 Green Wave’s record to 10-2 and secured the right to play host to North Texas in the American Conference championship game on Friday.

It’ll be the third time in the last four years that Tulane has played host to the conference title game.

Here’s what we learned from the game:

The defense dominated

The Green Wave pitched its first shutout of the season and held Charlotte to minus-3 rushing yards on the night. The defense forced two turnovers and five three-and-outs. Charlotte drove into Tulane territory just twice in 13 offensive possessions.
