WASHINGTON — “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” is back on NBC this holiday season, marking the second year since the classic special returned to the network where it first premiered in 1964. The special will air Friday, Dec. 5.
“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” originally debuted on NBC on Dec. 6, 1964, before spending five decades on CBS. NBC brought the special back to the network in 2024.
The holiday favorite follows a reindeer named Rudolph as he’s excluded from the Reindeer Games because of his shiny red nose, prompting him to embark on an adventure where he meets Hermey the elf, Yukon Cornelius and the Misfit Toys, all while hiding from the Abominable Snow Monster.
