As we wrap up the holiday weekend and look ahead to heading back to work and school, we’re keeping our eyes on a messy mix of precipitation arriving late Monday into early Tuesday.

The weekend brought cold temperatures and light, slushy snow to our northern counties.

Monday will continue the stretch of below-normal temperatures. Normally we would warm into the lower 50s by this time of year, but highs will be stuck in the upper 30s.

A developing storm system will bring a variety of precipitation types to the area Monday night.

As it stands now, our southern counties will experience a longer period of cold rain, while areas farther north will see more of a wintry mix transitioning to snow.
