One person was killed in a crash on Interstate 395 in Montville on Sunday.

It happened just before 7 a.m. on I-395 South near Exit 6 , according to state police.

A Subaru Legacy collided with the guardrail in the median and then went across the lanes and hit the guardrail on the right shoulder before coming back and hitting the concrete barrier in the center median, police said.

The driver, 50-year-old Edward Mascola, of Haddam, was taken to the hospital where he was prounounced dead.

Mascola was the only person in the car.

State police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage to call them at the Connecticut State Police Troop E barracks in Montville.
