RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Forty-nine people were arrested in a Nevada and California DUI blitz that was conducted in the evening of Saturday, Nov. 29, according to a Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) news release.

The second annual event is dedicated to NHP Sgt. Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix who were killed by a drunk driver in the line of duty on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, in Las Vegas.

“Their legacy lives on through the continued commitment of the men and women who serve our communities every day, and their sacrifice will never be forgotten,” a Washoe County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) Facebook post said.
