On December 12, 2025 at 11 a.m. members of American Legion Post 193 of Chapin will lay to rest the cremated remains of four previously unclaimed veterans at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery.

The veterans are:

U.S. Navy TM3 Gregory Wellinghoff. TM3 Wellinghoff served in the U.S. Navy from November 26, 1990-November 1, 1994. He was born October 15, 1968 and passed away July 18, 2024.

U.S. Air Force SRA Carl K. Demonbrun. SRA Demonbrun, served in the U.S. Air Force from October 9, 1974 - September 16, 1977. He was born August 21,1957 and passed away June 30, 2025.

U.S. Air Force SRA Lloyd Rutterford. SRA Rutterford served in the U.S. Air Force from June 11, 1976-August 8, 1984, he was born January 21, 1958 and passed away October 24, 2025.
