Jewish War Veterans Copper State Post 619 raised more than $17,000 in donations collections at 10 Fry’s grocery stores in the Phoenix East Valley over Veterans Day weekend.

This is the first "poppy" campaign where shoppers who don’t carry cash were able to donate to help homeless, hospitalized and at-risk veterans by using a digital payment network; the Post took in $500 via Zelle.

Jewish War Veteran Gabe Forsberg and Jewish War Veterans volunteer Dawn Quinn greeted several enthusiastic supporters of the causes, including Zelle donor and Chandler-area resident Bri Armijo.
