Cory Booker is in a state of wedded bliss.

The New Jersey Senator, who announced his engagement to Alexis Lewis in September, exchanged vows with the 38-year-old in two separate wedding ceremonies, writing on social media that he was “overflowing with gratitude.”

“We said ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us,” he wrote in a joint post with Lewis on Instagram Nov. 30. “First at the courthouse, then with our families. Hearts full and so grateful.”

The couple legally wed Nov. 24 in Newark, N.J., in a civil ceremony, with their parents acting as witnesses, according to the New York Times . Five days later, they held a second service at an intimate venue in Washington, D.C., followed by a family-only reception.
