Police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old man.

Edmonton Police Service members were called to a residence in the city’s northeast Saturday just after 8:40 p.m. They were responding to a weapons complaint near 160A Avenue and 83 Street. When they got to the residence, they found a deceased male, plus a 53-year-old female who was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.

A 25-year-old male was arrested, and the Homicide Section has taken over the investigation.

An autopsy on the victim has yet to be scheduled.

Police believe that the dead man, the injured woman and the person who was arrested on the scene are all known to each other.
