MADISON — Wisconsin volleyball is going into the NCAA tournament as one of the top 12 teams in the country.
That’s how the NCAA selection committee saw it, giving the Badgers a No. 3 seed in the Texas regional. The bracket was announced on Nov. 30 during a selection show that aired on ESPN.
That is, unsurprisingly, good enough for the Badgers to once again host the first two rounds of the tournament. UW will face Eastern Illinois in the first round on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. and the winner of North Carolina and No. 6-seeded UTEP in the second round on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. It marks eight consecutive seasons for Kelly Sheffield's program as one of the overall top 16 teams in seeding.
If the highest seeds prevail in the first weekend of the tournament, Texas would then host third-seeded Wiscons
