A beachside autumn wind brushes the as Lloyd Kahn straps on a helmet, knee pads and arm pads. The fresh paved road along the Bolinas shoreline is calling his name.
"When I broke my arm, my doctor said I was too old to be riding a skateboard," Kahn said. “I said, 'Yeah, you're right.'"
Is it stopping him?
"A week later, I thought f--- that," he said.
Keeping his body active is how Kahn has achieved a life where little things ail him. He moves just fine around his house, which he built himself in the late 1960s. His secret is always to stay active.
"That is the thing is to move," he said. "I just have an inner guide saying you got to do stuff for four, five days a week."
Whether it's open-water swimming, skateboarding or hiking, he doesn't let his age define him. Ninety is just a numbe
