New LSU football coach Lane Kiffin landed in Baton Rouge Sunday night to a crowd offering cheers of joy. A line of Tigers fans waited in anticipation outside the gates of the landing spot for his private plane.

“L-S-U! L-S-U!” the fans chanted as Kiffin walked from the private jet to an SUV.

Kiffin rolled down his window in the passenger seat and threw up his fist in a sign of solidarity with the LSU faithful.

“Yeah!” the fans yelled in response to Kiffin’s fist of approval. “We love you!”

Kiffin just finished a regular season where Ole Miss won 11 games, the most in program history. The Rebels, who were No. 7 in the College Football Playoff rankings before a 38-19 win over Mississippi State on Friday, are aiming for their first national championship since 1962 in this season’s C
