WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The city of Wichita is proposing to reduce Douglas Avenue to just three lanes between Washington and Grove. The proposal, which has been in the works for six years, would also include a mix of angled and parallel parking, sidewalk improvements and art added to the area.

Rated E Cards and Collectibles is just one of many stores that would be affected by the change. It’s located on Douglas Avenue near the 135 overpass.

“It gets hard to go to these businesses because there’s just nowhere to park,” said Anthony Miller, a store clerk at Rated E.

Right now, customers are parking behind the building or down the street to access the stores.
