CASA, or Pulaski County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, needs the community to step up if they want to provide gifts for 30 foster children in Central Arkansas.
Despite being thankful for the compassion and consistency the community has shown for children in foster care, as of last week there aren't enough CASA "Elves" to provide gifts to all of the children they serve. Angie Jones, the executive director of the group, said the elevated need for other less fortunate people may be affecting CASA.
"We had a slow start and part of that is the needs that our communities are facing. SNAP shortages and different things have a lot of people contributing to different organizations maybe in a different way than they have in the past to fill a community need," Jones said.
