MADISON — Wisconsin volleyball is going into the NCAA tournament as one of the top 12 teams in the country.

That’s how the NCAA selection committee saw it, giving the Badgers a No. 3 seed in the Texas regional. The bracket was announced on Nov. 30 during a selection show that aired on ESPN.

The bracket reveal was "probably pretty close" to what Wisconsin coach Kelly Sheffield expected.

"I don't think there was a ton of surprises," Sheffield said following the team's watch party at UW's Victory Hall along the south end zone of Camp Randall Stadium.

That is, also unsurprisingly, good enough for the Badgers to once again host the first two rounds of the tournament. UW will face Eastern Illinois in the first round on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. and the winner of North Carolina and No. 6-seeded
