A national emphasis on supporting small businesses was celebrated locally with a variety of marketing as area shoppers fanned out throughout the county to find local merchandise to put under the Christmas tree as gifts in less than four weeks.

The U.S. Small Business Administration helps encourage the local shopping theme, and many area groups worked together to encourage it, as well.
