Say Nothing
Channel 4, 9pm
Lola Petticrew is riding the crest of a wave at the moment. Channel 4 seems particularly taken with the rising star – they appeared alongside Gillian Anderson in the Troubles-set drama Trespasses. Now they’re tackling another project that takes place in a similar period.
Once again the backdrop is Northern Ireland, but this time the plot is based on Patrick Radden Keefe’s bestselling non-fiction book that spans 40 years of Northern Irish life, with the abduction and murder of Jean McConville in 1972 central to the narrative.
In 1999, the IRA admitted it had killed the mother of 10, naming her as one of the ‘Disappeared’; they claimed she had been passing information about republicans to the British Army.
