A crowd of several hundred gathers for the lighting of the Community Christmas tree by Conrad Dyer Fountain in downtown Port Angeles. There was a countdown by Santa and at exactly 5 p.m., the lights came on to the cheers of the multitude gathered there.

The 34-foot tree aglow with nearly 20,000 lights will adorn downtown Port Angeles through out the holiday season.
