Keir Starmer will today set his sights on welfare as he lashes out at a "poverty of ambition".

In a post-Budget speech in London, the Prime Minister is likely to face a barrage of questions about Chancellor Rachel Reeves , who critics claim misled the public about the state of public finances.

Mr Starmer will vow to reform welfare - saying "any Labour Party worthy of the name" cannot ignore the wasted potential of "trapped" young people.
