TORONO — During the monthly meeting of the Toronto Seniors group on Nov. 20, members donated 41 bags of food items to assist the city’s Helping Hands Food Pantry.
Club President John Livingstone thanked members for their continued generosity and kindness.
The evening began with Chaplain Arlene Obertance-Rice giving the blessing prior to the meal which consisted of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, including turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, salad, rolls and apple crisp.
There were 69 members present, and all were led in the Pledge of Allegiance by Obertance-Rice, who provided a reading as well.
Livingstone called on officers for their reports, after which Secretary Joyce Zimmerman read the secretary’s report and Treasurer Pat Smith reported on the club’s finances.
