Dominic McLaughlin , star of HBO ‘s upcoming Harry Potter series, has recalled the moment he received a letter from Daniel Radcliffe .

McLaughlin, who will play the titular wizard in the new adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s books, said he was handed the letter when he was on a train home to Glasgow.

“It was insane,” he beamed, during an interview with the BBC show Saturday Mash-Up! Live .

“My Dad tapped me on the train and just gave me this letter. I read it and then I got to the bottom, and it said, ‘Dan R.’ I was going mad, but I had to [keep cool]. I was on the train.”

Asked how filming was progressing, McLaughlin replied: “It’s going amazing, it’s going really well. I’ve made good friends with everyone, it’s great to be there.”
