Nearly two years after The Oklahoman asked the Oklahoma State Department of Education for public records about controversial proposed changes to administrative rules for alternative schools, the agency has provided the records.
The records arrived nearly two months after Ryan Walters resigned as the agency's top official. Under Walters, the agency received criticism for its slow handling of requests for public information made under the Oklahoma Open Records Act .
