A legendary BBC Radio 2 presenter has died aged 87. Brian Hayes' illustrious career spanned five decades and saw him at the helm of some of the most influential radio programmes of his time, including a popular phone-in show on LBC radio.
Born in Perth, Australia, Hayes made the move to Britain in the early 1970s. He initially joined Capital radio as a producer when the station launched in 1973, before transitioning into a presenting role, according to reports from The Mirror.
His reputation soared when he began hosting the morning interview and phone-in show on LBC. From 1990 onwards, Hayes' voice could be heard across various stations, including a stint on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show throughout 1992, reports the Manche
