WEST NEWBURY — Nancy Jukins and Suzanne Olson’s beloved 16-year-old cat, Bella, was failing and in pain from liver disease. The women knew it was time to end her suffering, but they needed help. They called Dr. Katie Larson.

Larson, a veterinarian living in West Newbury, recently launched Coastal Kindness, a mobile service offering in-home euthanasia for pets throughout the North Shore and the Merrimack Valley.
