COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A good Samaritan is expected to recover after being shot while trying to help a domestic violence victim.
According to police, the victim was one of three people who jumped in to help after seeing an assault unfolding in a parking lot Saturday night. The suspect then pulled a gun on them.
“The good Samaritans jumped into their vehicle, and the suspect fired at their vehicle and struck one of the good Samaritans,” a CSPD lieutenant said.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived but was arrested a short time later after they showed up at their workplace. Police say they also recovered a gun.
The shooting victim’s injuries were serious but not life-threatening, police said. The condition of the original assault victim has not been released.
