Daily Freeman coverage has misled readers about Terra-Gen’s safety record and about our proposed project in the Town of Ulster.

In a Nov. 19 news story, Legislator Eric Stewart is quoted as noting that “Terra Gen has had a number of fires at its facilities,” and the article then immediately cites “a Jan. 16 fire at a 300-megawatt facility in Moss Landing, California.” As written, this passage clearly suggests that Terra-Gen owns or operates the Moss Landing facility, and that the January 16 fire was at a Terra-Gen project. Both are incorrect.

The Moss Landing Energy Storage Facility is owned and operated by Vistra Corp., a Texas-based power company – not Terra-Gen
