Alabama football remains alive for the College Football Playoff, but plenty still has to play out.

Win the SEC Championship Game, and the Crimson Tide will lock up an automatic bid in the 12-team field as the SEC champ. But that will require beating Georgia for a second time this season.

Lose the SEC Championship Game, and Alabama will be 10-3. Does the CFP committee penalize the Crimson Tide for losing an extra game? Does something else happen related to automatic bids that bumps Alabama away from the bubble? There are a few paths to the Crimson Tide not reaching the playoff.
