CANTON, Ohio (WOIO) - The City of Canton is preparing for a winter storm this week by opening a warming shelter on Monday.
Those in need of shelter can head to St. Paul AME Church located at 1800 Tuscarawas St. E, starting from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Guests will be admitted on a first come, first served basis as space is limited. Food and water available.
“We owe it our most vulnerable residents to make sure they have a place to keep warm during
these winter months," said Canton Mayor William V. Sherer II. “I am grateful to all our community partners and donors who have made this venture possible.”
SARTA will be providing transportation to the warming shelter during regular operating hours. Route #107 will take guests to St. Paul AME Church. Riders must tell drivers they are in route to the
