Pay for workers in Manhattan jumped more than 10% in the first quarter of 2025, which ranked among the biggest increases nationwide, according to federal data.

Average weekly wages in Manhattan, also known as New York County, increased 10.6% during the first quarter of the year, when compared with the same period in 2024. That was the fourth-largest increase in average weekly pay among more than 350 of the largest counties in the U.S.

Workers in the borough made an average of over $4,500 a week in the first quarter.

The only other New York county in the top 100 for wage growth in the first quarter was Dutchess County at No. 65, according to the most recent figures from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics. Average pay for workers there rose 4.9% to $1,403 per week.
