Charges have been laid against a 20-year-old individual after police received reports of trespassers and possible gunshots on a property on Foster Road.

Prince Edward County OPP responded to the area shortly before 11 p.m. on November 20 and arrived to find a vehicle travelling at high rate of speed.

Moments later, the vehicle crashed into a ditch and the driver fled on foot into a wooded area.

Inside the vehicle, officers located alcoholic beverages, ammunition, a spotlight and an unsecured firearm.

The suspect was located and arrested following a search involving the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit and a Remotely Piloted Aerial System (drone).
