A young mum says her family holiday to Turkey has turned into a "nightmare" after her two young sons became seriously ill and were rushed to hospital just days apart.
Abbey Oakes, 25, from Airdrie, arrived in Antalya late on Tuesday, November 25, with her partner, Darrie McGowan, two boys — Theo, 6, and Blake, 1 — and her parents for their first family trip abroad together.
But just one day into the stay, Theo woke with a high temperature and cough on Thursday morning. His asthma made his condition a major concern, and the resort doctor immediately sent him to hospital.
Medics diagnosed him with bronchitis and croup. The six-year-old was admitted and put on IV antibiotics, fluids, antihistamines, oxygen, steroids and nebulisers.
